Auxiliary Members Hit Milestones Congratulations to Helen Evers (27 years) and Maxine Walters (25 years) for all your years of service to the Windom Area Hospital Auxiliary! Helen Evers Positions: Past Board member Why did you join the Auxiliary? in the 1980s. the hospital was struggling and was having a hard time getting physicians. I thought about what i could do to help to keep our hospital since I think it is very important to our city. I enjoy the camaraderie. I oined with some friends and have in- vited others to join throughout the years. It is an opportunity to meet new people and we've had wonderful leaders. We've accomplished a lot! What is your favorite memory? l always enjoyed decorating Christmas trees in the hospital for the holidays. Maxine Walters Why did you join the Auxiliary? I like doing things for people. I had some friends that joined with me. It's a great bunch of gals. What is your favorite memory? I enjoy making baked goods for the bake sales. We have purchased a lot of equipment for the hospital through our fundraisers. I also enjoyed the fall festival About the Auxiliary The Windom Area Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization whose sole purpose is to support Windom Area Health. The Aux- interested in Windom Area Health-which iliary has played a key role at the hospital since 1974 when it was re-established Join the Auxiliary Team! The Auxiliary is a volunteer organiza- tion that is open to ALL persons who are means both women and men! Membership dues are $20/year for both Active and Associate members. *ACTIVE members are people who at- tend our monthly meetings and volunteer at most events Active members are the backbone of the Auxiliary ASSOCIATE members are people who support the Auxiliary through dues and What does the Auxiliary do? The Auxiliary's primary goal is to support the hospital We raise money to purchase equipment for the hospital. Our policy is to donate all the profit from our fundraisers to the hospital to purchase equipment and amenities. Funding comes from the Auxiliary donations, but don't wish to attend the managing the Gift Center, hosting seasonal craft and bake sales, selling raffle tickets at the fair, and selling fresh pecans. From 1974 to 2021, the Auxiliary has donated over $283.000 to the hospital. As well as helping the hospital with equipment purchases, the Auxiliary also holds a core desire to ensure all feel wel- come at Windom Area Health. From serving held on the second Monday of the month at as greeters and lobby hostesses, knitting hats, making holiday stockings for new- borns, and uplifting Windom Area Health staff and Windom Ambulance Service members, the Auxiliary is the hospital's heart monthly meetings. Becoming an associ- ate member is a great way for everyone to financially support the work of the Auxiliary. PATRON memberships are $25/year for businesses. The Auxiliary is a great organization to meet new people and serve our communi- ties. Meetings are open to everyone and are 6:00 pm. at the hospital Guest speakers are often invited to the meetings to share about services at the hospital or a topic associ- ated with healthcare. All members receive a weekly email of the Windom Area Health Volunteer Times Review with hospital news.
