It has been quite a while, but Darla Miles is back in her home- town area, serving Windom Area Health twice a month as a psychiat- ric nurse practitioner. Miles, a 1981 graduate of Heron Lake-Okabena, moved around a bit, but has been living in Toledo since 1995, with the exception of two years in Willmar at Rice Memorial Hospital. She has been a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2015 and will be providing telepsych at Windom the first and third Monday of each month. However, she also will be on site at times, including June 29 and 30. "I will try to be there (at Windom Area Health) for two days every three months," Miles said. "My family lives in Minnesota, so I can work and see my family." She added that she loves the Windom area, with its rolling hills and history. She especially enjoys visiting Pat's Grove County Park whenever she gets the chance. Miles works for Midwest Wellness Institute, based in Flandreau. She started serving Windom Area Health in May. So far, she has just seen a few patients through her work in Windom. She likes what she sees here, in the early stages. ment." "It is medication, therapy and a lot of hard work on everyone's part." Miles added that she is already enjoying her chance to reconnect with her hometown area.
