Schwalbach's Steve Beihoffer set to retire After more than 38 years of devoted service, Steve Beihoffer will be retiring from Schwalbach Hardware. His last day is Friday, April 25. Steve started working as a full-time sales associate on Feb. 11, 1987, at Schwalbach Hardware, when it was located on 4th Ave. in downtown Windom. In the early years, he also helped with plumbing and HVAC service calls as needed. Steve has led the expansion of Schwalbach Hard- ware, starting with two remodels in the downtown store and then moving to the existing location on Hwy 60/71. It was about this time that he became the manager of the Windom store. He went on to take the lead in the expansion of Schwalbach stores, adding locations in Worthington in 2002, Luverne in 2003 and Jackson in 2006. With having multiple store locations came the need to have a General Manager to oversee the operations of them all. Steve became the GM in 2003. With this title he was responsible for inventory management, IT and computer maintenance, Human Resources, and a multitude of other duties for the four stores. Steve has been an integral part of the success of Schwalbach Hardware. His leadership, loyalty, kind- ness, hard work and dedication are immeasurable, and we all are eternally grateful. Steve is looking forward to retirement and doing more golfing, camping, hunting and jamming on his oversized drum set. Steve will be greatly missed but we want to extend our congratulations, appreciation and best wishes to him in his retirement. There will be a retirement celebration at the Win- dom store on Friday, April 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Stop by and enjoy some refreshments and join us in cel- ebrating his 38 years of service!
