Fulda Area Credit Union Announces Upcoming Rebrand Fulda Area Credit Union (FACU) is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2022, they will be changing their name and logo. Fulda Area Credit Union has a long and proud history of serving southwest Minnesota with financial products and services. In February 1986, Citizens State Bank of Fulda was closed, leaving many farmers without financing. Later in 1986, a group of Fulda residents met to explore the idea of opening a credit union. On September 15, 1986, Fulda Area Credit Union was opened as the nation's first agricultural credit union since the Great Depression. Hoping to kickstart the economic cycle and get money circulating in the local economy, Fulda Area Credit Union quickly grew to be a successful cooperative. In 1989, the board of directors recognized the great potential of FACU, and noted that changing the name may assist with future growth. As Fulda Area Credit Union looks to the future, they focus on being inclusive of all members and all communities they serve. Our name change comes from our years of hard work and dedication, and comes as a great success and testimony to the support we receive from our members.
