The Ecology Bus is the only one of its kind in North America, is modeled after a similar bus and program in Sweden. The PEBC mission: A vehicle for understanding and appreciating the natural wonders in our own backyards. The Prairie Ecology Bus Center is a private, non-profit environmental education center providing outreach and onsite education throughout the southwest MN region and beyond. PEBC programs serve preschool learners through adults using a variety of onsite and outreach programs to educate people about the environment and help them develop a sense of place and appreciation for the communities in which we live. Southwest Minnesota is home to a diverse environment rich in natural resource history, which guides the variety of programs offered through Ecology Bus field trips, community education classes, public programs, large group assemblies and more. With education programs beginning in fall of 1994, the PEBC has had the pleasure of working with tens of thousands of youth and adults across the region since its humble beginnings and continues to build and expand its service for learners of all ages.
