Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTOR Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS). currently has a full-time opening for a Public Health Director. DVHHS serves Cottonwood and Jackson Counties. The Public Health Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of Public Health programs which include and are not limited to: Women Infant and Children (WIC), Family Home Visiting, the Statewide Health Improvement Plan (SHIP). Public Health Emergency Management, Disease Prevention and Control, etc. that are to protect and improve the health of county residents. This position accomplishes this by assessing the community. setting priorities, allocating resources, developing/evaluating policies, supervising and training staff, assigning work, establishing budgets, and monitoring expenses. The Public Health Director acts as the Community Health Services (CHS) administrator following statutory requirements. Minimum qualifications of education and experience for this position: Applicants must have a baccalaureate or higher degree. Preferred areas of study include administration, public health. community health, environmental health or nursing. Documented public health and administrative or supervisory experience also preferred. Certain positions may be required to meet the following minimum training and experience standards for Community Health Services Administrators, per Minn. Rules part 4736.0100, subpart 3. The anticipated hiring salary range for this position is $78,686 - $102,294 and is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience.
