Johnson says a key point is that Engaged Home Care serves both small and large needs. "We have some clients who we provide around-the-clock care. and some we serve two hours per week," Johnson said. The business technically opened in September of 2016. But it started accepting more clients last fall as it added more staff. "In August, we had hired about three people." Johnson said. "Now we are up to 37 people." Among the key employees are Administrator Judy Johnson and Care Coordinator Stephanie Palmer. Ashley Johnson adds that, What services does the Engaged Home Care provide? Primarily, the staff assists with things like bathing, dressing. home making and sometimes just companionship which gives pri mary providers time away. Once a person requests services, staff meets with a family member to create a care plan that is tai lored to that specific individual. The business can provide care 24 hours per day, seven days per week. However, there are certain things the staff cannot do. "We cannot administer medica- tion and we don't provide skilled nursing services, Johnson said. "Those are the two biggest things the scope of our practice. We can- we are asked to do, but go beyond not legally do that." VA and waiver clients The business continues to grow, Within the past several weeks, the busi ness has re- ceived approval to serve Veter ans Administra tion clients and waiver clients.
